| 2. EGM Dinner & Talk in July | |
| On 30th July 1999, the Extra-ordinary General Meeting Dinner & Talk was sucessfully held. The talks by Mr. John Ng and Ms. Penny Fung respectively on Y2K Readiness & Business Contingency Planning were well received and attended by 32 members and 6 guests. Professional talks of this nature will be organized more frequently in future. |

| 4. Beijing Delegations Visiting Hong Kong | |
| In early July and late August 1999, through the arramgement of APSA-HQ, two delegations from Beijing General Security Services Company visited Hong Kong. The Excom arranged the visits to the International Finance Centre in Central, Megastrength Security Services Co., Ltd. and Techcom Security Technology Ltd. It is part of our effort to promote closer liaison with APSA-China Chapter. |
| 5. Talk on Public Policing & Private Security | |
| On 10th September 1999, a talk will be given by Dr. Andrew Willis. Free admission. | |
| 6. Appointment of Mr. John S.L. Ng as APSA Secretary General | |
| APSA - HQ has officially appointed our Chairman as APSA Secretary General. Ex-chairman Mr. Bobby Leung's post with APSA - HQ has been terminated. |
| 7. Co-operation on Conducting Professional Training with SITO | |
|
SITO has officially authorized APSA - HK as its training co-ordinator in Hong Kong. Mr. Raymond Clarke,
Executive Director of SITO will be in Hong Kong in late September to sign the relevant documents.
The Hong Kong College of Technology will re-launch the SITO certificate training courses in late September 1999 while YWCA is now seriously considering the re-opening of SITO courses. Our Training Co-ordinator, Mr. Philip Fok is responsible for these training courses. Interested parties may call Mr. Fok direct on 9472-6102. Negotiations are in progress with the training division of Federation of Trade Unions and the Hong Kong Retraining Board on these training courses. |
| 8. Closer ties with local professional Security Association | |
| The recent Excom meeting resolved to bring closer ties between APSA - HK and other local professional security associations including IPSA - HK region, Hong Kong Security Association (HKSA formerly known as TSA) and the Hong Kong Chapter of American Soceity for Industrial Security (ASIA). |
| 9. Membership & Subscription Fee | |

There are some 20 odd members who have yet to renew their membership. (These member will be notify individually).
Validity of membership as stipulated in our constitution is from 1st April to 31st March the following year.
Non-payment of dues for 6 months will be regarded as "withdrawal" and membership will be cancelled. Renewal of
cancelled membership may be subjected to Excom review. Remarks: Please renew your membership before 31st September 1999 by direct debit. |
